Vaginal bleeding in children : a 6-year study in jordan

The causes of vaginal bleeding in girls aged 10 years and under examined over a 6 year period in military hospitals in Jordan are reviewed.

Of the 30 patients who were seen, in 17 (56.7%), bleeding was caused by a local lesion of which one case was a malignant genital tumor.

Eight children (26.7%) had a form of precocious puberty, and in 5 (16.7%), no cause could be found.
