Most of the methods and types of scientific research, especially sociological research, are based on the study, analysis, interpretation, scrutiny and criticism of the data collected using scientific research techniques dedicated to data collection, such as the form, interview, observation, tests, as well as records and documents, and the scope and framework of the research may expand beyond the ability of the researcher and his physical, temporal and cognitive from this partial subset, all the vocabulary of the original study community.

therefore, through this research paper, we aim to address the most important steps adopted by specialists in the framework of sociological research in selecting the study sample, as well as determining its size, in addition to addressing its classifications and presenting the errors caused by its adoption and the most important problems facing researchers during its application.
