Abstract EN

The study addresses an important issue in the thought of Ikhwân al-Safâ, namely the relationship between religion and philosophy, or wisdom and sharia, although it is a classic issue in Islamic thought, where many philosophers raised it before them both in Orient through Al-Farabi and Ibn Sina, and The Maghreb with Ibn Rushd and Ibn Tufayl.

However, we will address the issue by introducing a new lecture along the lines of previous lectures, they made it the focus of their attention and philosophy, and they didn't follow their predecessors, they didn't give the primacy for philosophy over religion like Al-kindi did.

And they did not give pre-eminence for philosophy on religion, as did Al-mu'tazila, but their aim was to transcend the conflict between religion and philosophy, and to prove that the purpose and source of both is one, through several cornerstones: Proof of God's existence, the prophet's notion, the notion of the perceived and the unperceivable, the interpretation.
