Abstract EN

This article aims to highlight the great importance and interest that al-Saadi gave to the universal rules and principles in terms of quantity and quality.

at the quantitative level; al-Saadi's interest in universal rules and principles is widely spread in all his books of: Islamic jurisprudence and its roots, preaching, intellect, Quran's interpretation, and hadith.

he devoted a number of books written in prose and poetry for them.

as to the qualitative level, al-Saadi considered the universal rules and principles among the concerns of scholars of jurisprudence’s roots and not just the concern of fundamentalist scholars.

the findings of the present research paper showed that al-Saadi was interested in the fundamental and derivative principles of universal rules; considered them as a salient element in gaining deep understanding of sharia', deriving judgments, combining conflicted opinions and making inferences.

it, additionally, showed the consistence of sharia' in its fundamental and derivative principles; their efficiency in simplifying and facilitating Islamic knowledge; and their understanding through adopting the spirit of sharia' and its goals.

moreover, these comprehensive rules indicate the credibility of sharia in its legislative miracles.
