Abstract EN

The self-ontology in poetry traces back to that leap made by Heidegger in contemporary philosophy, where he replaced Descartes' "Cogito, ergo sum - I think, therefore I am" with the anxious ontological self.

This shift occurred because the self as a pure tribal proposition that precedes existence had come to an end, replaced by anxiety.

Through anxiety, the self reaches an ontological state that allows it to perceive the openness of existence.

Here, "poetry" replaces "mental propositions" in revealing the truth of existence.

In poetry, where the self attempts to invent its own identity, there is also anxiety.

The poet accompanies this process in their search for the authentic existence of the self, culminating in the final realization through death as the end of all existential possibilities.

This is what we are attempting to uncover through an interpretative approach to contemporary Algerian poetry.
