Abstract EN
Nabokov's Pale Fire (1962) is one of the few novels in the twentieth century whose concern lies in tracing the artistic and aesthetic questions pertaining to the nature of fiction, its problematic and above all the striking differences between the creative and critical activities. The present paper is an attempt to investigate the multiplicity of levels in this book and the relevant questions it arouses.
This is done by means of studying the central relation between the poet (Shade) and the critic (Kinbote) and its different implications.
