Abstract EN

This paper aims at clarifying the extent to which the poet Ma'n Bin Aws Al-Mozani ( 7 £H) assimilated the Islamic teachings in his poetry.

The biographies mentioned that he was one of the great Islamic poets who lived in the Pre-Islamic (Jahiliyyah) era and during the early years of Islamic Khilafah.

Such claim was not substantiated by evidence.

So, it is a necessity to look critically into his poetry to find out whether he really was an Islamic poet.

The researcher found that Ma'n Bin Aws was sometimes superficially affected by the Islamic teachings especially in his choice of certain vocabulary items and linguistic formulas, but on other times, the poet was found to have been deeply affected by the Islamic teachings especially in the religious concepts he chose to write about, and in his own personal behaviour and cross behaviour with others.

His poetry reveals all this very clearly.
