تمت متابعة خمسة و ثمانين مريضا مصابا بالقصور الكلوي (51 ذكرا و 34 أنثى) كانوا قد أحيلوا إلى المستشفى التعليمي في البصرة و مركز الكلية الاصطناعية، فوجد أن القصور الكلوي المزمن يصيب الذكور أكثر من الإناث و أن أعلى نسبة حدوث كانت فوق عمر الأربعين لكل من الذكور و الإناث.
و كانت الأعراض الأكثر شيوعا تلك التي تخص السبيل المعدي المعوي (62.4%) و أعطى (37.6%) من المرضى تاريخا لحدوث أمراض كلوية سابقة.
لقد وجدت علاقة بين القصور الكلوي المزمن و فرط ضغط الدم في (32.6 %) و مع داء السكر في (11.8 %) من المرضى.
و كانت جرثومة الأشريكيا القولونية الأكثر شيوعا في البول حيث كان نسبة مقاومتها للأمبسلين عالية (63 %)، بينما كانت المقاومة للكوترموكسازول و النتروفيورودانتين و الجنتاميسين 18 % و 17 % و 13 % على التوالي
Abstract EN
Eighty.fivepatients(5lmalesand34females)withchronicrena|failure (cRF) referred to Basrah Teaching Hospital and to Basrah Dialysis center were investigated.
Chronic renal failure was mostly affecting male subjects and the highest incidence was above age of 40 years for both males and females ' The commonest presenting symptoms were those of gastro - intestinal tract (62'49o) ' Only 37 '60/o ofthe patients gave a previous history ofrenal diseases ' The association with hypertension was 32.9Vo and dlnf'etes mellitus was ll.89o .
E.coliwasthecommonestmicroorganismisolatedtiomurine.The incidence of resistance to ampicilin was high (62vo), while thal to cotrimoxazole' nitrofurantoin and gentamicin was l8vo,I7Vo and 13vo respectively
