Abstract AR
Abstract EN
Al-Khalil suggested names for rhymes and gave them the forms of faial, fail, fala, and faila to make a distinction between them and al-mujaradith and al-muradif rhymes on the one hand and between al-’la’lifmd al-ya on the other.
Prosody can not differentiate between vowels and consonants, but rhymes can; a reason is that vowels are primary elements in the formation of rhymes and were used so by the Arab poets.
As a result, al-muradif and al-mu'asiseh rhymes constitute sixty percent of the ten most renowned dewans.
When Arabic verses were categorized on the basis of al-hur (free) and al-muqaiyad (confined) rhymes, it was obvious that the ratio of al-radif and al-ta'sis is more in al-hur rhymes than in al-muqaiyad.
Due to this fact, in Arabic poetry vowels occur and balance the rhymes.
Vowels influence the formation of rhymes and do not follow meaning and rhythm.
The relation of al-radif and al-ta'sis and verses depends upon the forms of rhymes in the meters.
The rhymes of al-radif and al-ta'sis are irrelevant to the subject of the poetry.
Poems of different themes might be mujaradeh , mu'asaih, or muradifeh; the variations between the rhymes of al-radif and al-ta’sis are relevant to the poet's rhythm but not to the subjects of poetry.
