This paper proposes a robust linear Controller for cascade inverter-type dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) to compensate voltage sags in utility voltages in power distribution network.
The proposed control strategy is implemented for DVR using multilevel inverter topology with isolated DC energy storages.
The phase shifted PWM technique is described to generate firing pulses to cascaded inverter.
PI and RST controllers are compared in terms of disturbance rejection, DC energy storage requirement and harmonics suppression at the load end.
The proposed concept is simulated using MATLAB Simulink environment.
The simulation results are presented to verify the performance of the proposed multilevel dynamic voltage restorer.
