Abstract EN
The need to produce a better cotton quality for sale to the textile mills and to reduce labour costs during processing has led to considerable interest in machinery optimization concepts for cotton module builders and gins.
Commercial cotton processing systems which include different types of module builders are bulky and require regular maintenance [I, 2].
In addition, a human operator is required to closely monitor these systems.
This paper presents a high performance cotton processing system, using a gearless electrical drive based on an induction motor with disconnected magnetic conductor.
