In this paper, an algorithm is developed for fault diagnosis and extended to develi tolerant control strategy for nonlinear systems subjected to an unknown time-varying first, the design of fault diagnosis scheme is performed using model based fault technique.

The fault magnitude and time of occurrence of fault is obtain ^ L transformation of residuals into structured residuals.

The estimated magnitude o] ihemfstWrbance variable is used by the feed-forward control algorithm to make appropriate changes in the manipulated variable to keep the controlled variable near its set value.

The ]eed-jorward controller acts along with feed-back controller to control the multivariable system.

The performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed by implementing on a three- tank process ]or various types of disturbance inputs.

The effectiveness of the proposed approach is injerred from the responses obtained.
