Zinc corrosion in the Red sea water without and with three corrosion inhibitors viz Mercaptotraizole (MTRA), Benzotraizole (BTRA) and Bezimidazole (BZL) was investigated using different techniques i.e.

weight loss, linear* and logarithmic polarization beside the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).

The inhibition efficiency calculated was found to be in the order : BZL > BTRA > MTRA, The scanning electron microscope (SEM) images supported the formation of a protective film on the metal surface thus retarding its corrosion.
