This paper a decentralized control scheme with decentralized observer for the stabilization of multi-machine power system.

The interconnected multi-machine power system models are composed of a linear constant part perturbed by an additive nonlinearity which is illustrated by the interconnection terms.

The decentralized observer is proposed to reconstruct the states of each subsystem for decentralized control when the states are not completely measurable.

Sufficient conditions for each subsystem, under which the proposed approach can achieve the asymptotic stabilization of the overall large scale system, are developed, the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) method is used to compute the control and the observation gains of the global system and to maximize the domain of uncertainty.

Simulations on three generation infinite bus power systems are presented to improve the enhancement of the transient stability.
