Statistical and comparative study to the prescription prescribed for asthmatic children aged from 6 months up to 12 years either by physicians of Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) or physicians of pediatric department in Asir Central Hospital.

Data regarding the prescriptions and all medical consultants were randomly collected without physician's knowledge.

The study showed that the significant differences in prescription writing between the physicians of pediatric department of Assir Central.

Hospital and those working in (PHCCs) were both in some missing items and also in prescribed drugs.

Missing items were significant as regard name in prescription of (PHCCs) was (26.47 %) while in prescription of pediatric department of Assir Central Hospital (11.61 %) while the difference in missing duration of medication was (34.31 %) in prescriptions of (PHCCs) and was (17.86 %) in prescription of pediatric department of Assir Central Hospital.

As regard the drugs prescribed, the prescription of pediatric department of Asir Central Hospital were containing certain drug which were significantly prescribed more than in prescriptions of (PHCCs) such as antibiotics and corticosteroids.

While the prescriptions of (PHCCs) were containing other drugs prescribed more than that of Assir Central Hospital as analgesic antipyretic drugs, and antihistamines.
