تعتبر المركبات النشطة سطحيا من المركبات الكيميائية ذات الإستخدامات المتعددة.
فهي تعد جزيئات "أمفيفيلية" حيث تتكون من رأس محب للماء "هيدروفيلي" و ذيل كاره للماء "هيدروفوبي".
هذه الطبيعة المزدوجة للمركبات النشطة سطحيا أكسبتها إتصالا قويا بين السوائل غير الممتزجة مثل الماء و الزيت.
و لهذه المركبات القدرة على التقليل من التوترات السطحية و البينية و ذلك بتجمعها على السطح الفاصل بين السوائل غير الممتزجة و مساعدتها على الإمتزاج، كما أنها تستطيع التجمع لكوين ما يسمى بالمايسلز و هذا بدوره يزيد من الذوبانية، قابلية الحركة، التوفر الحيوي و لاحقاً التفكك الحيوي للمركبات العضوية الكارهة أو غير الذائبة.
الجزء الأول من هذه المقالة المرجعية يقدم معلومات قيمة عن المركبات النشطة سطحيا من خلال إستعراضه-في البداية-لتواجد هذه المركبات في الطبيعة و تصنيفاتها العامة و من ثم يلقي الضوء على التطور الكيميائي الذي صاحب تطور هذه المركبات.
أخيرا و ليس آخرا يناقش هذا الجزء و بالتفصيل أهم الصفات الفيزيائية لهذه المركبات في المحاليل و التي أكسبتها هذه المعايير الإستثنائية من خلال التأكيد على أهم العوامل التي تؤثر على هذه الصفات.
Abstract EN
Surfactants are among the most versatile chemical compounds.
They are amphiphilic molecules composed of a hydrophilic head and a hydrophobic tail.
This dual nature of the surfactants produces a strong affinity for interfaces between immiscible fluids such as oil and water.
Surfactants can reduce surface and interfacial tensions by accumulating at the interface of immiscible fluids to form micelles and increase the solubility, mobility, bioavailability and subsequent biodegradation of hydrophobic or insoluble organic compounds.
Part 1 of this review affords valuable information about the surfactants starting with their natural occurrence and general classification.
Then it adds additional light on the chemistry development of these compounds.
Last but not least it discusses in detail the most important physical properties of these compounds in the solutions, which gave them their extraordinary criteria, by emphasizing on the factors that affect on these properties.
