Abstract EN

There is food gap in the Arab World where food production does not meet the demands of societies for food that obliged the governments of Arab states to import food to bridge the gap which, in turn, adversely affects their Economices by increasing financial burdens and economic dependency.

This paper aims to draw a suitable policy on food security in the Arab countries, with special concentration on agricultural integration as fundamental means for realizing acceptable level of food security, especially that the regional and international economic grouping has become an effective means for achieving economic and social development and even the economic and political unity.

The boosting of Arab agricultural development to realize the food security goals necessitates optimum uses of available agricultural resources at the national and regional level as well as giving more concern to agricultural investments and control of agricultural technologies for increasing the agricultural products to go in line with the growing demand for food.

This requires agricultural economic integration in the Arab World and coordination of developmental policies and plans, that is to say, to specify strategic developmental goals for realizing food security in the Arab countries.

The major findings derived from the study revealed are: absence of agricultural strategy for the Arab countries, absence of Arab Production development policies, weak Arab agricultural Investment co-cooperation, lack food consummation education, and the lack of marketing infrastructure .

The main recommendations: of the research are, to development comprehensive agricultural strategy that exploit and use of Arab countries resource and potentials, that to examine relevance of the goal, and their attainability given the resources available, to develop Arab production development Arab production, the co-cooperative agricultural investment must gain more attention, and the development of the marketing infrastructure
