Studying the effect of simultaneous vaccination with salmonella typhimurium and infections bursal disease vaccines in chickens

This trial studied the immunological effect of vaccination of chickens with different live Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD) Vaccines simultaneously with live and inactivated S.

typhimurium vaccines.

The results revealed that, there was some immunosuppressive effect caused by mild IBD vaccine on the immune responses developed against live or inactivated S.

typhimurium vaccine.

This effect was more pronounced on using the intermediate plus IBD vaccine.

Also the results demonstrated that the live S.

typhimurium vaccine is more beneficial than the inactivated one under these conditions because of its significant reduction of the mortality and morbidity rates, reduction of the rate of shedding of virulent S.

typhimurium strain and minimizing the colonization in the internal organs of the birds post challenge with the virulent S.

typhimurium strain .

So, live salmonella vaccine may play more better rule than the inactivated one in minimizing the contamination level with Salmonella organisms that causing food poisoning in human in poultry meat and eggs.
