Prevalence of Listeria monocytogenes in the imported frozen seafood consignments arrived to Egypt was evaluated.

A total of 675 imported frozen seafood samples (Whole shrimp, peeled shrimp, Whole fish, fish fillets, sepia, calamari, crab, lobster) imported from different origins ; were collected on arrival to Sokhna Port, Suez city-Egypt, where it tested for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

The incidence of contamination by Listeria monocytogenes were found to be (1.2 %), (4.44 %), (2.0 %), (6.67 %), in whole shrimp, peeled shrimp, whole fish, and fish fillets, respectively.
