Discriminate function analysis is used to discriminate between three clinical subgroups of depression:- neurotic depression, endogenous psychotic and en¬dogenous non-psychotic depression.
Two discriminate functions have been calculated on which the percentage of grouped cases correctly classified was 95 %.
The possible utility of quantitative EEG measures in differential diagnosis is discussed.

L'analyse de la fonction discriminatoire a été utilisée pour différencier entre trois sous-groupes cliniques de dépression: dépression neurotique et dépression psychotique endogène et non-endogène.
Deux fonctions discriminatoires fûrent calculées dont le pourcentage des cas groupés et correctement classifiés était de 95%.
L'utilité possible de mesures quantitative de L’EEG dans le diagnostic différentiel est discutée.
