Abstract EN

This paper deals with the morphological form yaf u :l in Arabic .

The statistical descriptive methodology has been adopted in this study.

The words of the form ya f u:l have been collected from two dictionaries one of the is old i.e Lisanal Arab , the second is contemporary , i.e Al –mu jam al wasit.

The semantic implications of the form in the above mentioned dictionaries have been shed light on .

Moreover , the semantic development has been taken into consideration
