There can be no doubt that the century in which we may be described as an information century and information revolution.

This feature characteristic of today has led to the emergence of a new style of legal transactions, the most important of which are the new legal transactions through e-commerce contracts.

These contracts are entered into through new means of communication, first and foremost the Internet, and may be considered distance contracts since the parties are located in different places.

As a consequence, it is necessary to identify ways of settling disputes which may occur between the parties of such contracts.

Traditional methods for settling disputes are for the most part unsuitable.

Electronic arbitration has been found as a possible means for settling disputes related to e- commerce contracts.

The question however arising, and as the main focus of this paper, is whether the traditional legal framework as we know it is suitable to support this form of arbitration.
