Permanent teeth emergence for iraqi students in hilla and najaf cities : (a cross-sectional study)‎

Timing and sequences of upper and lower permanent teeth emergence(except third molars) were researched cross-sectionally in group of (27340) teenaged student collected from random area in Hilla and Najaf city, (13683) were males and (13657) were females aged between four to sixteen years old.investigation done according to jaw and sex variations.the data were statistically analyzed by using karber method in order to compute the mean age and SD of tooth emergence cross sectionals.

The results of present reseah showed significant differeces (p<0.05) between the timing of maxillary and mandibular teeth emergence in males and females,earlier emerge in females and the differences are very clear in canines emergence(mixed dentition stage).also the mandibular teeth emerge before their maxillary opposing teeth in both sexs.therfore,records indicated that the contemporary iraqi children exhibit variation and delay in thier times of permanent teeth emergence when compared with other studies.
