الهداف : تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد إعداد الإصابات و الوفيات الناجمة عن حوادث المرور.

المكان : قسم طوارئ مدينة الحسين الطبية، عمان - الأردن.

الطريقة : تم تحليل و دراسة إعداد الإصابات و وفيات حوادث المرور بين المرضى الذين تم إخلائهم إلى طوارئ مدينة الحسين الطبية خلال عام 2006.

النتائج : شملت الدراسة 120977 مراجع 67 % ذكر، 33 % أنثى، منهم 772 (0.63 %) تعرضوا لإصابات مرورية.

بلغت نسبة الوفاة بينهم 5 %، تم إدخال 147 حالة، تم إسعاف و معالجة 289 حالة بقسم الطوارئ.

خاتمة : أصبحت إصابات حوادث المرور من المشاكل الصحية و الاجتماعية لما تسببه من الإصابات و الإعاقات في المجتمع.

و أصبح من الضروري إيجاد و تفعيل أسباب الوقاية منها و تحسين مستوى السلامة المرورية.

Abstract EN

Objective : Estimate the frequency of road traffic injuries and deaths among patients seen at the Emergency Department of King Hussein Medical Center.

Patients and Methods : The medical records of Patients with road traffic injuries and deaths who evacuated to the Emergency Department of King Hussein Medical from January to December 2006 were reviewed.

Results : Arround 120977 patients were seen during the study period.

Seven hundred and seventy two (0.63 %) patients had road traffic injuries.

Among those (75 %) were males and 25 % females.

The patients’ ages range between 2 and 70 years.

A total of 147 (19 %) injured patients were admitted to the hospital, 289 (76 %) patients were treated as outpatient and 36 (5 %) cases of death.

Conclusion : The study shows the magnitude of deaths and injuries among patients evacuated to the Emergency Department of King Hussein Medical Center after exposed to road traffic injuries.

It also emphasizes that RTIs can be prevented through action at all levels of road traffic system.
