تنتج الحصى الأنفية عن تكلس لنواة في التجويف الأنفي.
على الرغم من أن وجود الأجسام الخارجية في التجويف الأنفي ليس بغريب، إلا أن الحصى الأنفية نادرة التكوين، و يمكن تمييزها عن الأجسام الخارجية بترسب و تكلس المعادن المكونة لها.
نحن نقدم حالة لسيدة تبلغ الثلاثين من العمر، مصابة بمرض الألفا ثلاسيميا تم تشخيص وجود حصى أنفية لديها بالأشعة المقطعية، ثم تمت إزالة هذه الحصوات جراحيا بنجاح.
تعد الأشعة المقطعية للجيوب الأنفية الفحص الشعاعي الأمثل في تشخيص مثل هذه الحالات.
Abstract EN
Rhinoliths or nasal stones result from calcification of a nidus within the nasal cavity.
Though nasal foreign bodies are not uncommon, rhinoliths are rare and are distinguished from intranasal foreign bodies by mineral deposition and encrustation.
We report a case of a 30 year old lady with α thalassemia minor who was diagnosed to have a rhinolith by computerized tomography [CT] and underwent successful surgical removal of the lesion.
CT scan of the paranasal sinuses is the radiological investigation of choice in this condition.
