يصف هذا التقرير حالة تتمركز حول نشوء نوع نادر من الأورام في منطقة الوتيرة الأنفية.
فقد تم اكتشاف ورم أحد المرضى الذين يقومون بمراجعة عيادة الأنف و الأذن و الحنجرة بمستشفى الخدمات الطبية الملكية لقوة دفاع البحرين و كان المريض يعاني من أعراض محددة يمكن تلخيصها في وجود حكة و انسداد بالأنف بالإضافة لكون المريض مدركا لوجود التورم المذكور.
تم عمل فحص الأشعة المقطعية للورم المذكور و لم يكن له مردود تشخيصي.
لذا تم استئصال الورم المذكور تحت التخدير العام.
نتيجة فحص و دراسة الأنسجة و دراسة الأنسجة أثبتت أن الورم المذكور هو ورم الغمد العصبي و هو من الأورام النادرة جدا تواجدها في الأنف.
Abstract EN
This paper describes an uncommonly presented schwannoma of the nasal septum.
One of the patients following up in the ENT department of Bahrain Defence Force Hospital was found to have a mass sited in the anterior portion of the nasal septum.
The patient was aware of the mass and his only complaint was a regional itching sensation and nasal obstruction.
A needle aspiration of the mass was performed and the result was found to be yield less.
The patient was then taken to the theatre and the mass was dissected, removed and sent for histopathology evaluation.
The result proved to be a benign schwannoma, which is an extremely rare site of presentation.
