في حالة الداء العنقودي الصفلي، تم عرض حالة مريض بالغ من العمر 50 سنة.
عاني المريض من تورم و انتفاخ صفني متقطع لمدة 6 أشهر مما أدى إلى انفجار دُمل مع تفريغ قيحي.
الفحص المجهري أظهر خاصية حبيبية من نوع الشعية (الفطر الشعي(، حيث تم علاج هذه بالاستئصال الجراحي و العلاج بالمضادات الحيوية.
تم شرح هذه الحالة سريريا و مجهريا على ما وجد في الكتب الطبية لهذا المرض الغير شائع.
Abstract EN
A case of scrotal botryomycosis in 50 year old Bahraini male is described.
This patient developed intermittent scrotal swelling for the last 6 months which burst with abscess discharge.
Microscopic examination showed characteristic granules that resemble those of infection by Actinomyces species.
Successful treatment often requires a combination of both surgical excision and antibiotic therapy in such cases.
We describe the clinical and pathological findings of this case with review the literature on this uncommon infectious disease.
