تمت دراسة السلوك التزواجي للإبل المجاهيم المحروسة جزئيا في محافظة جدة، من المملكة العربية السعودية، كما تم إدراج الظروف المناخية لمنطقة الدراسة.
دلت نتائج اختبار فردمان "Friedman" على عدم وجود فرق معنوي خلال العلم ف كل من الذكور و الإناث، و لكن أظهرت الذكور فرقا معنويا وحيدا في السلوك الاجتماعي (xr2 = 9.85, P < 0.05) خلال فترة العام.
و طبقا الاختبار مان وتتي "يو" U Mann Whitney يوجد فرق معنوي في الذكور و ذلك بزيادة في كل من السلوك التزاوجي (U = 3.0, P < 0.025) و الاجتماعي (U = 0.0, P > 0.01) و التهديدي (U = 5.0, P < 0.05) و كذلك عدد مرات التزاوج (U = 3.0 P < 0.025)، و لكن الفرق المعنوي الوحيد (U = 0.0, P < 0.025) في الإناث هو الزمن الذي استغرق في السلوك الدفاعي.
تتميز الذكور خلال موسم التكاثر ببروز الغدة القفوية "Poll glands" و ظهر اللهاة "الدليعة" ‘Soft palte’.
كما تم توضيح طريقة التزاوج في الإبل و التي تستغرق ما بين 9–إلى 22 دقيقة، حيث تأخذ الإناث وضع البروك أثناء عملية السفاد رغم الخطأ في الاعتقاد الشائع بأن السفاد في الإبل يتم للخلف (الظهر إلى الظهر) و في وضع الوقوف.
و لوحظ أن فرت الحمل تمتد لقرابة 390 يوم.
Abstract EN
Mating behavior of Mayhem partially guarded camels was studied over a year in Jeddah province, Saudi Arabia.
Climatic data of the area are presented.
The behavioral results of Friedman's test showed no significant difference during the year in both males and females, but the male camels showed the only significant difference (xr2 = 9.85, P<0.05) in social behavior during the year.
According to Mann Whitney 'U' test there were significant increase in males sexual (U=3.0, P<0.025), social (U=O.O, P Poll glands and imagination of soft palate during breeding season are characteristic of males. Details of mating techniques were recorded and take 9 to 22 minutes. Copulation took place with the female in the recumbent position and contrary to the general belief that it occurs back to back in the standing position. The gestation period is about 390 days.
