ثلاثة و أربعون مريضا مصابا بالهيضه أدخلوا إلى ردهة الإسهال في مستشفى النسائية و الأطفال التعليمي في الديوانية للفترة من ثمانية و ثلاثون مريضا (88.4 %) حزيران إلى تشرين الأول سنة 2000.
جميع المرضى المصابين بالكوليرا هم من نوع (Inaba) كانوا من القرى و الأرياف و خمسة مرضى (11.6 %) كانوا من المدينة.
سبعة و عشرون مريضا (62.8 %) لا يتوفر لديهم صرف صحي بينما 16 مريضا (37.2 %) تتوفر في بيوتهم مرافق صحية.
عشرة مرضى (23.2 %) كانت أعمارهم أقل من سنتين و 14 مريضا (32.6 %) كانت أعمارهم من 2-5 سنوات و 12 مريضا (27.9 %) كانت أعمارهم من 5-10 سنوات و 7 مرضى (16.3 %) كانت أعمارهم من عمر 10-14 سنة.
ثمانية و عشرون مريضا (65.2 %) بقوا 3 أيام في المستشفى و 10 مرضى (23.2 %) بقوا من 4-6 أيام و 5 مرضى (11.6 %) بقوا 7 أيام.
سبعة مرضى (16.3 %) مصدر مياه الشرب لديهم من الحنفية بينما 36 مريضا (83.7 %) مياه الشرب لديهم من مصادر أخرى كالأنهار و الآبار و بدون تعقيم.
ثلاثون مريضا (69.6%) كان لديهم نموذج الخروج موجب مرة واحدة للكوليرا بينما كان 11 مريضا (25.8 %) لديهم نموذج الخروج موجب مرتان و مريضان (4.6 %) كان نموذج الخروج لديهم موجب ثلاث مرات.
Abstract EN
Forty three patients were admitted to diarrhea unit in maternity and children teaching hospital in AL-Diwanyia, suffering from cholera from June-October 2000.
All serotypes were belonging to serotype Inaba.
Of all 38 patients (88.4%) were from rural area and 5 patients (11.6%) from urban.
Twenty seven patients (62.8%) had no sewage system and 16 patients (37.2%) have sewage system.
10 patients (23.2%) were below 2yr and 14 patients (32.6%) were between 2- 5yrs, 12 patients (27.9%) were between 5-10yrs and 7 patients (16.3%) were between 10-14yrs of age.
Twenty eight patients (65.2%) spends 3 days at hospital, 10 patients (23.2%) remained for 4-6 days and 5 patients (11.6%) stayed for 7 days.
Regarding drinking water 7 patients (16.3%) had tape water supply and 36 patients (83.7%) get their water from other sources like rivers and wills.
Thirty patients (69.6%) had one time positive stool sample, 11 patients (25.8%) had two times positive sample and 2 patients (4.6%) had three times positive stool sample
