This study reveals the origin and development of Arabic relative pronoun (’alladi ) by examining the internal structure of the pronoun including its phonetic and morphological elements, and by searching in other Semitic languages for phonetic elements common to the relative pronoun.The study has corered Arabic dialects , including both standard and colloquial Arabic ,and what has been recorded on relative pronouns by Arab grammarians and Orientalists.

The researcher has discussed the views of Arab grammarians and Orientalists and concluded that the Orientalists' views are not different from those of Arab grammarians.

The research concludes that the relative Pronoun (’alladi ) has gone through three stages and finally settled in the Arabic eloquent picture that is by having been linked exclusion ( du ) that appears in the (ţaỷ)dialect.
