Abstract EN

The reason for choosing this topic is attributed to two things: first, the poetical place of Mahomoud Darwish and his effect on the Arabic literary and cultural life in general and the Palestinian one in particular.

Second, Darwish’s poetical specialty in invoking symbols and employing them in his poetry.

Thins study contains an introduction and two subjects and conclusion.

In the introduction I have shed light on important of the historical, religious and mythological symbols.

The first subject tackles the historical and religious symbols.

The second one dedicated to the mythological symbols and their employment.

The conclusion the main results of this study.

As to methodology, I have used the descriptive, and analytical method.
