يتعرض البحث لجغرافية المياه بأحد التجمعات الحضرية لمنطقة أبها-خميس مشبطار أخر رفد جنوب غرب المملكة العربية السعودية حيث يلقي التحضر و النمو السكاني السريع عبئاً كبيراً على استهلاك المياه و الموارد الباطنية السائدة.

و يقوم البحث بتقييم نوعية المياه المسحوبة من المصادر التقليدية من الآبار و العيون و الجريان السطحي، و قد قام الباحث بجمع ٦٦ عينة ميـاه من تلك المصادر ثم جمعها من المنطقة الحضرية بطريقة عشوائية، قـام الباحث بتحليلها فيزيائيا و كيميائيا و تم إنشاء قواعد بيانات، و انتهى التقييم إلى وجود تركزات لبعض المعادن و الأكاسيد و الأملاح مما يؤثر على مدى صلاحيتها.

Abstract EN

The physical and chemical quality within traditional water resources of Khamis Mushait city, Saudi Arabia, that are being used for various urban purpose was assessed to explore consistency.

The network sampling and cross- sectional techniques were implemented.

Googhearth digital satellite map of the study area was used as a master map for sampling.

A total of 66 water samples were collected randomly from surface and well water (33 samples each) located at and around the city.

All samples were subjected to standard analysis.

The results revealed that the overall means of turbidity (FAU), conductivity (Us / cm), total dissolved solids (mg / 1), pH, chlorides (mg / 1), hardness as CaCo3 (mg/1), sulphate (mg / 1), ammonia (mg / 1), nitrat (mg / 1), copper (mg / 1), iron (mg / 1), manganese (mg / 1), and zinc (mg/1), in water samples taken from deep wells were 9.
