أجريت هذه الدراسة على عدد 75 كلبا (43 ذكر و 32 أنثى) يعانون من أمراض بالصدر أكلينيكيا.
و كان متوسط أعمارهم من 3-9 سنوات.
نم فحص هذه الحالات باستخدام الأشعة السينية و الموجات فوق الصوتية لإكتشاف أي أورام بالصدر.
و جاءت النتائج كالتالي : تم اكتشاف عدد سبعة حالات أورام (5 ذكور و 2 إناث)، خمسة منهم وجدوا بقاعدة القلب (4 ذكور و أنثى تتراوح أعمارهم بين 7-9 سنوات) بينما وجد اثنان بالقصبة الهوائية (ذكر و أنثى تتراوح أعمارهم بين 3-7 سنوات).
تم إجراء فحص الباثولوجي باستخدام الميكروسكوب الضوئي و الالكتروني لعينات نسيجية حية بعد استئصال الأروام جراحيا و تم متابعة الحالات السبع.
ثلاثة من حالات أورام القلب ظلت بحالة جيدة بينما تدهورت حالة اثنان منها نتيجة انتشار الورم و ذلك بعد شهر و ثلاثة أشهر من إجراء الجراحة.
و من هذه الدراسة تم استنتاج ما يلي : على الرغم من إمكانية تشخيص وجود أورام بالصدر بواسطة استخدام الأشعة السينية و الموجات فوق الصوتية، فإن التشخيص الدقيق يتم باستخدام الميكروسكوب الضوئي و الالكتروني.
و أظهرت هذه الدراسة بأن نسبة الإعاشة في حالات أورام القلب كانت 60 %.
بينما أظهرت حالات التورم الغضروفي بالقصيبات الهوائية نتائج جيدة بعد استئصالها جراحيا.
Abstract EN
This study was carried out on 75 clinically chest affected cross-bred dogs (43 males and 32 females) with age ranged from 3-9 years submitted to the Surgery Department Clinic between 2003-2005.
Seven dogs (5 males and 2 females) were observed to have thoracic masses, based on radiographic and sonographic exam-inations, which found at the base of the heart in five cases (4 males and a bitch, of age ranged from 7-9 years) and diagnosed as heart base tumors while, the other masses were present in the lung of 2 dogs (a male and a bitch, of age ranged from 3-7 years) and diagnosed as Bronchial chondromas.
Three of dogs affected with heart base tumors survived well (60%) after resection of the masses with subtotal pericardectomy, while the others were euthenized 1 and 3 months post-surgery due to distant metastasis and deterioration of their conditions.
The prognosis of benign bronchial chondromas was good after its removal with total pericarde-ctomy.
The diagnosis and prognosis were also based on the histopathological examination.
