Abstract EN
This paper addresses the selJ-scheduling problem oj determining the unit commitment status Jor pouier generation companies bejore submitting the hourVy bids in a dau-ahead market.
The thermal unit commitment model is formulated as a deterministic optimization problem uihere expected projit is maximized using the 0/1 mixed-integer linear programming technique.
This approach allows precise modelling oj non-connex nariable cost, nonlinear start-up cost, ramp rate limits and minimum up and douin time constraints Jor thermal units.
Model incorporates long-term bilateral contracts uiith contracted pouier and price patterns, as uiell as forecasted market hourly prices Jor dai-ahead auction.
Solution is achiened using the homogeneous and selk-dual interior point method Jor linear programming as state oj the art technique, uiith a branch and bound optimizer Jor integer programming.
The ejjectineness ojj the proposed model in optimizing the thermal generation schedule is demonstrated through the case studu uiith detailed discussion
