لتكن C (P) هي المصفوفة الرفيقة (Frobenius companion matrix) لكثير حدود عقدي P بمتغير واحد.
في هذا البحث نبين طريقة لكتابة كثير الحدود الذاتي للجزء الحقيقي الديكارتي من C(P)، ReC(P) = 1/2 [C(P)+ 〖C (P)〗^*]، كتجميع خطي لكثيرات حدود من نوع شيبيشيف (Chebychev).

Let C, (p) denote the Frobenius companion matrix of the monic polynomial p with complex coefficients and let ReC, (p) be the Cartesian real part of C, (p).
An expansion of the characteristic polynomial of ReC, (p) as a linear combination of a type of Chebyshev polynomials is obtained.
