Empowering illiterate females through community organizing : a longitudinal field study in Jordan

This longitudinal field study deals with the launching and impact of program that aimed to improve the status of illiterate women in the city of sweileh in Jordan.

The program went through many stages which included identifying the target group, networking, recruiting and working with volunteers, working with volunteers literacy courses to participants.

Providing The data were gathered by using three means: reviewing available H having some focus group discussions with a group of seven women who two levels or more in the program; and interviewing some staff member involved in the program, such as the director of the center, instructors in the coordinator of the program, and some volunteers.

The program had many psycho-social, economic benefits to participants.

Such advantages are related to the personal familial, and communal levels.
