تم تحضير متراكبات من الكروم الثلاثي، المنجنيز الثنائي، الكوبالت الثنائي، النيكل الثنائي و النحاس الثنائي تحتوي على نسائق نيتروجينية حلقية كبيرة رباعية الارتباط عن طريق تفاعل 3، 2- بنتان دايون, ثنائي أمين الإيثيلين مع أيونات العناصر الانتقالية.
و تم التعرف على المتراكبات عن طريق تحليل العناصر، قياسات التوصيلية الكهربية، قياسات الاستجابة المغناطيسية، و دراسة أطياف الأشعة تحت الحمراء، الأطياف الإلكترونية و الرنين الإلكتروني.
و ظهر أن المتراكبات من النوع ذات المغزلية العالية و لها الأشكال البنائية رباعي الأوجه رباعي الارتباط، الهرمي الرباعي خماسي الارتباط و ثماني الأوجه سداسي الارتباط.

Complexes of Cr (III), Mn (II), Co (II), Ni (II) and Cu (II) containing a tetradentate macrocyclic nitrogen ligand have been prepared via template reaction of 2,3-pentanedione, ethylenediamine and transition metal ions.
