Abstract EN
This paper argues that Shakespeare does not only present the character of Aaron as a fulfillment of early modern English stereotypes about blackness, but he also exaggerates such stereotypes to his black dramatic figure which seems to intensify the atrocious nature of Aaron's cruelty.
In addition, the paper argues that despite the negative characteristics of Aaron, Shakespeare grants him considerable positivity.
