Abstract EN

Volleyball has witnessed an obvious development in all its basic skills, especially the Spike skill, because it is the key to win- if it is done correctly-depending on the kinetic analysis.

Therefore, studying this skill kinematically is important to reveal the points of weakness and strength, by knowing some kinematic variables for both back and front row jump spike, and knowing some differences between these variables.

The researcher used the descriptive approach.

The study sample consisted of the best (10) players from the study community, which was (24) players of the secondary stage students in Irbid district, whose ages ranged between (17-18) years, Video photography was used for kinetic analysis through a Sony Digital camera.

The study dealt with these kinematic variables: ball speed, angle speed of attacking arm and trunk, and fly angle.

Study results showed that the best ball speed in front jump spike was (18-19 m/sec), and that front jump spike has the highest accuracy.

The study recommended the use of explosive power for both hand and leg when conducting the jump spike, because it is important in increasing the angle speed of attacking arm and trunk, depending on the action and reaction principle.
