Abstract EN

In this paper a detailed thermal model of an ice-storage tank is developed which simulates the growth and melting of ice inside the storage tank.

To infer the effect of varying the ice-storage dimensions on its performance during the charging cycle, a parametric study was performed using the developed model.

Based on the simulation results a suitable icestorage module was designed.

The ultimate goal is to study the effect of adding ice storage units on the economics of air conditioning systems.
