Abstract EN

Although the sugar industry in Syria is old-origin and had been passed through of its up-growth more than 60 year* but still unable to ensure the quantities of production which is necessary to fulfill an acceptable degree of food security for this high consumer-demandable vital material (Sugar) for Syrian consumer.

The objective of the research is to show the availability of local possibility in Syria to increase the production of sugar and to cover people needs of this material in which we review the fact of sugar beet agriculture and sugar production with the obstacles which obstruct this productivity process* and to suggest the machinery of increasing of local production of the sugar material depending on the local produced raw material (Sugar Beet)* and to ensure the basic consumption needs for people and to fulfill an accepted food secure to avoid the economical* social and political negative effect which caused by inability of the national economy to make this material available through local production and to import it from outside.
