Abstract AR
Abstract EN
Microsporum gallinae (Mg) was isolated from heavy breed cock (Haraty).
Exhibited clear gross lesions of favus disease on the comb, wattles, earlobes, and face.
Fungal culture on Sabourauds dextrose agar and mycobiotic agar stained the media with light- red to tangerine color.
Microscopic examination of the fungus showed abundant micro conidia and less macro conidia.
Experimental infection carried out using 80 seven months old cocks broilers breeder which divided into two groups (Gl and G2).
Gl was fed ration without protein additives, reared in 40-45°C temperature and injected with 0.8mg Dexamethazone s / c, weekly for three times then infected with the fungus while G2 was fed ration with complete protein additives, reared in 27-32°C temperature without treatment with Dexamethazone then infected with the fungus.
The results showed two months after infection characteristic gross lesions of favus disease appear in 80% of Gl birds and 5% of G2 birds.
It was concluded that heat stress factor, malnutrition and immunosuppressive drug treatment increased the percentage of infection with (Mg) fungus.
