The V-shape diquinoline 4 was synthesized and the solid-state structure of its acetic acid cocrystal was carefully investigated in term of crystal engineering and supramolecular chemistry.

The suitable X-ray cocrystals were obtained by crystallization of diquinoline 4 from acetic acid.

The structure adopted acid…pyridine hydrogen-bonded supramolecular heterosynthon in addition to other supramolecular non-covalent host-guest and host-host interactions.

No proton transfer process was detected; no salt formation.
