Photovoltaic properties of ITO/poly l3-(4''-octyloxyphenyl)-2,2'-bithiophenej /aluminum device have been studied.

An open circuit voltage of 0.42V and short-circuit current density of0.5nA/cm2 are reported.

The short-circuit current density was found to be linearly dependent upon the incident light intensity up to \20mW/cm-.

A comparison between the device photoaction spectra and the.

polymer optical absorption spectra, reveals that excitons are generated within their diffusion length from poly[3-(4"-ociyloxyphenyl)-2,2'-bithiophenej /Al interface, where they get dissociated- Moreover, higher quantum efficiency could be achieved by illumination through ITO side.
