Abstract EN

Two nuclear analytical techniques: x-ray fluorescence (XRP) and neutron activation analysis (NAA) have been used for the determination of Al, Si, Cr and Fe in some local ores.

The light elements Al and Si were found difficult to determine by XRF, but were easily analyzed by NAA.

The elements Cr and Fe were easily analyzed by both methods.

The two methods are shown to complement each other.

The results obtained are discussed and compared.

The two nuclear analytical techniques are non-destructive, reasonably accurate and less time-consuming compared to chemical methods.
