Abstract EN

This study aimed to know health concepts in the books of Islamic education in the secondary stage in Saudi Arabia.

Religious books for the first secondary stage (boys) were selected as a representative sample with a percent of (29*2%) the study attempted to achieve its objectives by answering the questions posed, using the method of content analysis, and its tool was the analysis list derived from research and review of previous studies and literature related to the Islamic attitude towards health.

The main results of analysis of the content of Islamic education books for first secondary class as follows: 1-Total paragraphs contained the concepts of health reached (198) from total(1860) paragraphs, included in the books with all units, which equal a percentage of (10*65%) and most of these concepts related to health aspects.

2 - Most of the concepts of health were implied in the paragraphs and its total reach the number (180), with a percentage of (90*9%), while the total of concepts contained in the sub-headings were (16),with estimated percentage of (8*08%), while the lowest occurrence was in the main headlines, with a number of (2) and a percentage of (1*01%) 3 – χ2 test results showed that there were significant statistical differences in the level of (*02) between the occurrences of health concepts in each unit of the books which are monotheism, interpretation, Hadith, Fik'h, Islamic culture, to be understood from this result that the occurrence of health-related concepts in the content of this book depends on the nature of the topics that include them, and on the amount that the nature of these issues allow to present these concepts.

As a result of this study, a number of recommendations were made, the most important was to do additional studies and to use analysis list when planning or writing or re-developing book of Islamic education, and emphasize the importance of subheadings orientation process used in the books of Islamic education in Saudi Arabia , and focalization on teacher of Islamic education through the training to highlight the concepts of health in the curriculum that is taught.
