A flavanone : 6,7- dihydroxy - 3, 5- dimethyl - 4x-methoxyflavone was isolated from the alcoholic extractives of the pods of Acacia nihtica var astringens and its structure was deduced on the basis of its IR, UV, NMR and mass spectra .
