Abstract EN

This study treated superstitions in "The Arabic Heritage in Sudan" by Abedalla Abedul Rahman El Dareer who tried to prove the Arabic origin of the Sudanese people.

One of the clues he used for that end, is superstitions.

The purpose of this study is to highlight and explain these superstitions in both Old Arabic and Sudanese texts.

El Dareer mentioned a good set of Arabic superstitions in Sudan , but that is only a little part of them.

The researcher classified these superstitions into three categories: the first category is that which has to do with a part of a human's body.

They are four.

The second category of superstitions is that which has to do with animals.

They are three.

The third category of superstitions is that connected with devils.

They are also three.
