تم في هذه الدراسة توصيف عملية التركيب التراجعي للقسطرة في المثانة البولية في العجول البقري و الجاموسي قبل و بعد انفصال حشفة القضيب و قد تم تقسيم العجول إلى مجموعتين بحيث كانت المجموعة الأولى تجريبية و كانت الثانية اكلينيكية.
تم استخدام عدد 20 عجلا ففي المجموعة التجريبية و التي قسمت إلى 10عجول بقري (منها 5 بها انفصال حشفة القضيب و 5 لم يحدث بها انفصال بعد) و 10 عجول جاموسي (منها 5 بها انفصال حشفة القضيب و 5 لم يحدث بها انفصال بعد) و لقد استخدمت هذه المجموعة لتحديد مدى سهولة عملية التركيب التراجعي للقسطرة.
أما بالنسبة للمجموعة الاكلينيكية فقد شملت عدد 47 عجلا بقريا و 5 عجول جاموسي و تم استخدامها لتشخيص أو علاج بعض الإصابات المرضية للجهاز البولي تحت الظروف الحقلية.
أظهرت النتائج سهولة التقنية حيث أن 91 % من الحيوانات أمكن تركيب القسطرة التراجعي لها بعد محاولة أو اثنتين و إن كل عملية تركيب ناجحة للقسطرة تحتاج إلى 1,4 محاولة كما أن عملية التركيب التراجعي للقسطرة أصعب نسبيا في العجول الجاموسي عن مثيلاتها البقري ذات نفس الوزن.
كما وضحت الدراسة مدى فائدة هذه التقنية في تشخيص و علاج بعض إصابات المجرى البولي في العجول تحت الظروف الحقلية.
Abstract EN
A simple technique for catheterization of the urinary bladder of cattle and buffalo calves before and after separation of glans penis was described.
The study was classified into two main parts.
Part I was experimentally conducted on 10 cattle and 10 buffalo calves and each group was subdivided into 5 animals with and 5 animals without separation of glans penis, and it was used for determination of the ease of retrograde catheterization of the urinary bladder.
Part II was clinically conducted on 47 cattle and 5 buffalo calves either for diagnosis or treatment of certain affections.
Results revealed the easy catheterization of the urinary bladder in 91 % of cases after 1-2 trials, and that one successful retrograde catheterization requires 1.4 trials.
It was observed that the catheterization was more difficult in buffalo calves than cattle ones.
The technique was useful for diagnosis and treatment of certain affections of urinary tract in cattle and buffalo calves.
