يهدف هذا البحث المرجعي إلى التعريف الإصابة بطفيل الأكانثاميا Acanthamoeba من حيث طرق العدوى، أعراض المرض، ليتم اكتشافه مبكرا للتمكن من علاجه كذلك التوعية بطرق الوقاية من الإصابة به لتجنبها و المحافظة على قوة الأبصار.
حيث تحدث الإصابة في قرنية العين و يحدث احمرار بالعين و زيادة الدموع و الحساسية الشديدة للتعرض للضوء و أهم من ذلك الألم الشديد بالعين و في الحالات المتقدمة تظهر العتامات و التقرحات بالقرنية مما يؤدي إلى ضعف الإبصار و يمكن فقد الإبصار.
و من أهم العوامل التي ينتج عنها المرض استخدام العدسات اللاصقة و تلوثها بتعرضها للمياه الملوثة أو استخدام محلول الملح المحضر منزليا أو مياه الصنبور لغسل العدسات.
كذلك تعرض العين لخبطة.
تشخيص المرض : يتم التشخيص بعمل مسحة من ملتحمة العين أو القرنية أو المحلول المستخدم في تنظيف العدسة اللاصقة ويتم زرع هذه العينات في مستنبتات من مادة الاجار غير المغذي و المغطي بطبقة من البكتيريا كولاي Escherishia coli و يتم فحصها بالمكروسكوب الضوئي ما يتم عمل شرائح و صبغها بصبغات مختلفة.
كذلك يتم التشخيص باستخدام الميكروسكوب الكنفوكالConfocal microscope لرؤية الطور النشط أو الحويصلات على الطبيعة في الأنسجة الحية.
كذلك اختبارات مناعية أخرى.
يتم العلاج بالأدوية أو جراحيا بعمل ترقيع للقرنية في الحالات المتقدمة.
Abstract EN
Background / Aim : this review is based on the relevant literatures available in this subject.
The aim is to give wide information's about infection of the cornea by the parasite.
Acanthmoeba causing acanthamoeba keratitis which is a potentially devastating corneal infection causing visual loss.
The review gives emphasis on epidemiology, risk factors, clinical manifestations, pathogenesis, and management of the disease.
Conclusion : Acanthamoeba keratitis is a potential blinding infection of the cornea, it is essential to be early diagnosed, to avoid the risk of permanent visual impairment and blindness.
